Slavery

Question 2 Slavery has been an astounding conflict throughout our democracys early history. Many people fancy it was unconstitutional, alone regardless eradicating it was a colossal struggle that took umteen years. benjamin Banneker took a firm position on the immorality of thralldom and wrote to Thomas Jefferson about its negativity. He implements several rhetorical strategies to fence against bondage including ethos, anaphora, and pathos. Banneker uses several honest appeals that attack Jeffersons master-slavery view. He begins his letter by referring to an analogy and reminding Jefferson of the oppressed causation that the colonies were in under Great Britains rule. He and then compares it to the on-going condition of the slaves and how its similar. He also states that while Jefferson is full moon convinced of the benevolence of the father he is hypocritical and he counteracts his mercies by allowing slavery to continue. By referring to the Father it shows that Jefferson and Banneker have a mutual God, but it also criticizes Jefferson for not doing the estimable thing. These ethical appeals make Jefferson winder if he is doing the right thing. To remain pro forma and polite Banneker throughout the letter refers to Jefferson as sir.
